College Outreach
TEXO Foundation’s College Outreach Committee focuses on building relationships with colleges and universities that have accredited construction programs, including the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 5, as well as administering scholarships and grants.
Committee Mission: Encourage, develop, and support educators and the next generation of construction talent in the North Texas construction industry.
Current Committee Chair: Michael Prochazka, The Christman Company
Committee-Led Initiatives
Each year, university students in construction programs travel to DFW to showcase their skills and connect with TEXO member companies about career opportunities. Students participate in 4 divisions: commercial, design-build, heavy civil, and concrete solutions. Teams are challenged with quick turn-around bid proposals and in-person presentations.
TEXO Foundation raises funds to support the construction industry through the generous support of our TEXO members. Our goal is that, through university support via scholarships and grants, high quality employees will be attracted to the Dallas/Fort Worth construction market. In the past 5 years, TEXO Foundation has distributed over $130,000 in student scholarships.
TEXO Foundations supports regional universities through grants funded by our generous TEXO members in order to help them educate the next generation of construction professionals. Universities with construction management programs can apply for our grants on an annual basis. In the past 5 years, TEXO Foundation has distributed over $65,000 in university grants.
