Youth Outreach Committee
TEXO Foundation’s Youth Outreach Committee is dedicated to fostering interest in the construction industry by actively engaging with middle schools and high schools. Through strategic partnerships and outreach initiatives, the committee seeks to introduce students to the diverse and rewarding career paths available in construction, with the goal of cultivating the next generation of skilled professionals.
The committee designs and implements a wide range of dynamic, age-appropriate programming that sparks curiosity and enthusiasm for building and construction. These include classroom presentations led by industry professionals, hands-on workshops, career fairs, mentorship opportunities, and interactive demonstrations that bring construction concepts to life. By providing students with real-world insights and tangible experiences, the committee helps demystify the industry and highlights the value and impact of careers in construction.
Through these efforts, the Youth Outreach Committee plays a vital role in bridging the gap between education and industry, empowering young learners to envision a future in construction and supporting the long-term workforce development goals of the North Texas region.

The Build Texas Proud Expo is more than a typical career fair, it’s an immersive experience showcasing the many paths to a rewarding career in the booming construction industry. Whether you’re a general or specialty contractor, service provider, university, or trade school, exhibitors are encouraged to provide hands-on activities that engage students with real-world experiences, from using tools and trying on safety gear to spinning a prize wheel of industry knowledge.
To fulfill our mission of educating, recruiting, training, and retaining the next generation of construction professionals, the TEXO Foundation is dedicated to equipping educators with the resources they need to teach essential construction concepts and skills.
